Frequently Asked Questions
Insurance & Payment
Do you accept insurance?
Yes! I accept several major insurance plans, including:
Optum, Aetna, Cigna, BCBS, Carelon
If you're unsure whether your plan is accepted, I'm happy to help you check your benefits during your free consultation.
How does insurance billing work?
If your insurance is accepted, I’ll handle claims and billing for you directly.
You'll only be responsible for your copay or coinsurance, which your insurance company will determine based on your plan.
What if my insurance isn’t accepted?
No problem. I offer private pay rates and can provide a superbill — a document you can submit to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
Do you accept HSA or FSA cards?
Yes! Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards are accepted as long as they’re linked to a major credit card network.
How do I pay for sessions?
You can pay with:
Credit/debit cards
HSA/FSA cards
Your card will be charged automatically after each session.
Common Questions
What happens in the first session?
We’ll talk about what brought you in and what you're hoping to get out of therapy. It’s a relaxed, no-pressure conversation, a chance to get to know each other and see if it feels like a good fit.
How often will we meet?
Most clients start with weekly sessions. We'll decide together what works best for your goals, schedule, and comfort level.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes. Everything we talk about in therapy is private. There are a few legal exceptions related to safety, which I’ll go over with you before we begin.
Do you work with people who are new to therapy?
Absolutely. Many of my clients are starting therapy for the first time. You don’t need to have the perfect words or know exactly what to say, we’ll figure things out together.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes. I offer secure online therapy for clients located in WA. You just need a quiet space, a good internet connection, and a device with video.
